Sections

Sections are reusable blocks of text that policies and reports are built from; document variables are the facts they fill in, such as your company name.

In the app: Templates › SectionsWho can do this: Contributor or above

Build the Sections library

  1. Open Templates › Sections and choose New section, or open one to edit it.
  2. Write the body in Markdown. The editor shows how to insert a document variable, and the preview names variables that still lack a value.
  3. Turn on Shared — reusable across many documents so policies and reports can reference it.
  4. Select Create section or Save changes.

Deleting a shared section

A policy or report that references a shared section you delete loses that text.

Document variables

Variables are set once per project. Saving them needs Admin on the project; see roles and permissions.

  1. Open Templates › Variables and type a new variable's key.
  2. For a yes-or-no value, turn on Flag; leave it off for text.
  3. Select Add, then set the value in the new row.
  4. Select Save variables.
