Run your first scan

Start a scan for the first time. Authorise scanning for your main domain, verify the domain if asked, run the scan and read the first results.

Authorise scanning

  1. Open Preferences and find Scan modules.
  2. Select Enable on the module you want. If it shows Verification required, use an option on the card: an invitation code, verify your domain (below) or request access. If it shows Re-verify, verify the domain again.
  3. Tick the box confirming that you are authorised to scan the domain shown, then select Activate.

To verify a domain, open Activity › Domains, select Add Domain, enter the domain and select Add, publish what the page asks for and select Verify.

Start a scan

If activating a module already started a scan, go to the results. Otherwise:

  1. Open Activity › Scans and select New Scan.
  2. Enter a Scan Name, choose the Scan Type (for example Attack Surface or Dark Web Discovery), leave Run Mode on On Demand and, for an Attack Surface scan, Scan Preset Type on Passive Scanning, and enter your domain under Scan Targets. A Dark Web Discovery scan asks for Monitored Domains instead.
  3. Tick the box confirming you are authorised, then select Create Scan.
  4. Open the row menu on the new scan, choose Trigger Scan, then Yes, Trigger. An Attack Surface scan takes you to Live Scan; a Dark Web Discovery scan takes you to Exposure › Identity, where its results appear.

Adding and running a scan needs a contributor; activating a module needs an administrator. Some scan options depend on your plan; see pricing. To make a scan repeat, see Repeat a scan on a schedule.
